Hi there! My name is Jen and I live in the US. I was given a few rare coins from my late father and am having a hard time finding the value of one particular coin. It is a 1904 10 dollar Liberty coin in great condition. no mint. Uncirculated. Can anyone tell me what the best way is to go about getting the honest value of this coin?

Wow nice coin! It's not a rare date, so value comes down to condition. Scroll through here to guage condition - I'll wildly guess its a 63 but take a look - https://www.pcgs.com/photogradeAnd then look up that grade here for a rough idea of value - https://www.pcgs.com/prices/detail/.../most-activeYour coin would have to pass the grading test at one of the major grading companies, and would have to avoid the dreaded "details" designation (such as it cannot have been cleaned) for this value to apply, but that should be a good start.

Thank you so much for your advice! Looking at the different grading, I would put it at a higher grade, only because I see it in person and I had to downgrade the resolution on the photo to upload it so it doesn't show as well as it looks in person. It was never cleaned which is good!! I will research a reputable company and get it graded. Have a great night!

Nice gold! Mintage around 162,000. If a 63 as mentioned, it may be worth around 1500 to1800$

From these pics it looks better than 63 to me. Please crimp those staples flat or transfer this coin to a flip or capsule before it gets scratched.

Wholesale is $1405 in MS-63 and $1680 in MS-64 so there's a significant price difference. Might be worth sending it out to have graded.

Looks at least MS63 or maybe better (the reverse looks 65). Is that a tiny gouge or hole on the obverse half way between Miss Liberty's nose and the rim? Can you remove it from the holder for images? Only do so if you know how to safely remove staples and handle coins. It is a common date and contains almost 1/2 troy ounce of fine gold. Selling it raw (not professionally graded as it is now) will not net you the best price if you are going that route. If there are no problems and it graded MS64 at PCGS or CACG then it's worth close to $2,000. Selling it as-is in a 2x2 you're looking at closer to $1,500.

To CCF! Nice gold coin. I'll guess MS-64 for the grade.

Very nice ... PCGS "photograde", as you've been told, is a great source and is very user friendly.

I see a very nice coin...big jump up in value from 64 to 65, might want to look at grading, talk to a coin shop owner but do not sell to them raw. to CCF....good luck

I talked to my local dealer about $10 Eagles a couple weeks ago. He said that he was paying the same for damaged as for MS slabbed at current prices, and all he was seeing was common dates. If you like your coin and want to keep it you might consider slabbing it, but if you're selling I wouldn't take the trouble.

Agree with thq .grade really not that important right now with gold near all time high prices . You have a common date that is likely MS63 . If you sell it .the spot price of gold x .483 X 95 to 98 per cent is roughly what you would expect to get in this market .
