Variety Vista 1941-S JN die list

I am not sure how to proceed with this particular coin. I would like to determine the die match for this 1941 Large-S nickel. The coin is mint state and VLDS with developed markers. The list of 16 dies is short. Also, there are two Large S mint marks represented in 1941: the smoother Trumpet Tail which is also used for many years from 1946+, and the crude-looking jagged Large S with the triangular tail.

I believe this mint mark is the Trumpet Tail. Also, it stands unusually far above the building base. Most mint marks in that era were punched closer to the base. You can see that on most of the 1941 Large-S dies, there is about a half mint marks distance to the base. On this coin, you could almost fit a complete Large S between the mint mark and the base. So this should be easy. I thought it would be Die #6 for sure.

However, I have no marker matches. No UNI gouge, archway gouge, O of GOD gouge.

I have subsequently struck out on pretty much all other markers on the other die listings.

I do have large die scratches rising from the bridge of the nose, die scratches going from M of Monticello towards F of Five. So I thought that maybe #14 is a match. But the scratches do not start and end in the same place.

Identification is complicated by the plastic of the ANACS slab containing the coin. But it feels like the published markers are really strong, and would not be obscured by plastic or the VLDS. Am I just missing something? Maybe this is a different die stage for an existing listing? Could it possibly just be an unknown die, and I am chasing my tail trying to match markers?

I agree. It's very similar to Die 14 but the scratches don't line up exactly. Zooming in, I do see a faint crack in Jefferson's hair. Possibly later die state then shown?

#6 is the only one that is even close as far as mm location and not 100% that it is as high as yours. #14 is definitely not high enough. Can you get a nice clear closeup of ED of UNITED? I know you are working with a slab but see what you can do.

makecents, I thought that #6 is more similar than #14 as well, I was looking at those die list and showing that to my husband last night and telling him #6 is the die that most resembles this one, even if this doesn't have the same markers, as Brandmeister said, it could be a different stage. Maybe? Sorry, I'm learning toward this variety and I could be wrong.

Thanks for doing that, Brand! Using your original pics, I thought I could see some similar die gouges/scratches around the ED letters, now not so sure.... Yours is definitely a later die stage, as you can see the letters are somewhat thinned by polishing, especially around the lower D serif, so not sure if it is die #6 or possibly a new die. I do not see a closer mm location than die #6 though.
