Hello all! Starting this winter coin season where I left off, upgrading my Jefferson set to Choice BU - or better . I wasn't looking to upgrade this coin but was able to cherry pick this beauty for $11. Where are you all on grade?

Actually pics are a bit hard to grade accurately from but at least a Gem - 65. Interesting steps too - would like a straight on close up.

The last reverse image shows staples dangerously close to the coin. Please remove them carefully. My guess is MS64 because of reduced luster, which might be because it's in a 2x2. It might be better.

Its sitting on top of the 2x2 and I love to live dangerously with staples that's actually just some broken plastic next to the coin from the opened flip. Also, the luster is lacking in the photos but its ok. I would not say PCGS would call it good enough for an MS66 level. Strike is definitely there for that level, however.

Nice close up pics added. I'm sticking with 65 and it sure looks like at least 5 full steps too! OP coin......

Glad to hear it's not in staple danger! If it's outside the 2x2 then I'll guess MS65FS. Nice piece.

great photos. especially the close-ups.
at least MS64FS. the collar and jaw marks might hold it back from 65
interesting reverse as the steps are pretty sharp but the middle of the building is pretty weak which is definitely from strike. not easy to find a FS on these steelies
