Hi All, I was wondering if someone can explain whwt is am seeing here and the difference to look for In DD, MD, and other variations that may look the same. I keep seeing things that to my eye would look like DD, but from what everyone has shared here I don't believe it is. I've included some arrows pointing towards what I'm looking at and appears to be areas with multiple shadows on the letters. I've seen this on a lot of coins and I'm wondering what the reason is and what I should be looking for while searching for DD or other errors. Thanks!!

Can not see very well what your arrows are pointing at, the fields are too dark, but from your explenation it sounds like MD. I'll try to twick your pic see if I can bring it up.

I tried, but just a tad better to see.

Notice all your arrows are pointing at the doubling in the same directions ,that right there is a give away for typical MD strike, doubling uniformly on the same sides , flat and shelf like with no increase in size of the devices.
Nice looking coin.

Looks like Machine Doubling. Size of the devices are reduced and is shelf like in appearance. Machine Doubling is caused by the die bouncing slightly to a different spot. A Doubled Die is caused by a mistake in the die making process. A real Doubled Die would be larger in size with a spread, extra thickness, splits, and doubling. http://doubleddie.com/58222.html

Nice work @chase to lighten up the pic. I agree with this being Machine Doubling.
