2023 P Nickel: Another Unattributed Doubled Die Reverse / DDR

Seeker_101 Pillar of the Community United States 1791 Posts	Posted 02/06/2025 4:24 pm This one is similar to my last post but the doubling is different. It takes time to attribute these and that's time I don't have right now. I take care of my mother and she reached late stage Parkinson's recently. When she's not sleeping I have to keep a close eye on her. At the same time I have to make changes in the house to accommodate her new living circumstances including getting a room setup for a hospital bed. Report this Post to the Staff

My own mother has been nearly incapacitated and in and out of the hospital for weeks. We finally have a diagnosis, but treatments are going to take several more months. I have been spending just about every waking moment helping my dad to care for her. All the doctor visits, tests, physical therapy, nurse visits are exhausting. My prayers go with you, Parkinson's is a tough disease. Your mom is lucky to have your help. As to the DDRs, I think Seeker is better at the 2023s than me. One of the challenges is that they are recent—meaning they are still being studied and cataloged—with a large number of DDR possibilities. You never know if you have an earlier die state of an existing entry, or a new entry that is similar to existing entries. I liken them to proof DDR identification for 1962-1964 nickels, where there are so many similar entries that it can feel like tilting at windmills. Report this Post to the Staff

She'll be a bit more normal when she wakes up. I believe this is WDDR-083 but a later die state than the listing. The last 2 markers are nearly polished away. I'm surprised that I didn't check this DDR sooner. It's like my 5th or 6th one of this DDR. Report this Post to the Staff
