Greeting all! Can someone please tell me if there are a place here in USA to attribute foreign coins? Coins Specifically from Dominican Republic? Or if there are some website with a list of foreign coins that have DDs, I mean something like VV or doubleddie.com but for foreign coins? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!!

gigi2110, that's something I'd like to know also. I run across various doubled dies, RPMs, RPDs, etc. and just mark it on the 2X2.

Hondo Boguss, Thank you for the reply! Thats what I will have to do as well. I searched on some dominican Facebook group to check if someone talk about Varieties and errors, but it seems that they only buy or sell them as old coins, and no one talks about Varieties or errors any where. I'm from Dominican Republic, but I learned about coins here on USA, so I never look through dominican coins, but as my mom knows that I like this hobby, she brings me some coins from there, so last night I looked through them and I found around 2 DDs and one die clash, and 2 more that I think they are doubling but not sure at 100%. So I will be posting here later and see what you guys think about them.

@gigi, while being far from comprehensive about varieties, at least some of them are noted in numista. I just did a quick check of recently-minted coins from the DR and didn't see any such mentions though. I get the feeling that with the perhaps exception of Canadians, the rest of the world is not nearly as interested in errors and varieties as US collectors.

There is also the perception that "third world" mints are perhaps less careful about quality control compared to the mints of say the USA or Britain or Europe, and thus such errors and varieties are more common, and this less interesting and valuable. There are certain "third world mint" countries, such as India and the Philippines, which seem to have errors occur far more frequently. I don't know where the Dominican Republic falls on that spectrum.

Thank you for the replies Spence and Sap!

Spence, I believe you are right, I don't have much knowledge about the currencies of other countries, but at least in my country (Dominican Republic) it seems they aren't interested in errors or varieties, just the coins as old coins or silver coins.

Sap, thank you for that information, I didn't know that. Not sure about the quality on Dominican Republic, but I was looking on ebay to see if I can find at least one coin with DD but not luck, even here in the forum I can't find any dominican coin with any error or varieties, I find about two or three post but any of them are doubling or error. Apparently Dominican coins are not of much interest to many, except for those who collect silver and low mintage of foreign coins.
