Hello! I'm new to coin collecting and still have a lot to learn. Recently, I came across a 1970-S penny that I find pretty interesting. Here's what I think I know about the coin—please correct me if I'm wrong:
- Weight: 3.1g - RPM - Large Date - Floating Roof
I believe there is some doubling on some of the lettering, and the coin might be off-center. Additionally, the "FG" on the coin is faint and appears doubled or repunched.
I hope my lack of experience doesn't make you laugh too hard! Thank you for any insights, corrections, or thoughts on its value.
Large Date with Die Deterioration Doubling. There's no RPM. The Floating Roof is also very common and carries no premium. It's the result of over polishing the die.
the roof must be disconnected at both side to be a floating roof. You neglected to give us a close up of the right side, however, I see it connected in the full reverse side image. So it is not a floating roof from what I can tell.
