I'm not going to send this back to PCGS for reconsideration, but I wonder if it might be worthwhile sending it to CAC for a sticker, or maybe even a crossover attempt at CAC?

Seriously? Where do you see any suggestion of a cleaning?

Anyone have any thoughts on whether a crossover attempt at CAC would be a good option? It looks like I could specify a minimum grade of 65 for a crossover at CAC, while I couldn't specify a minimum grade above 64 at NGC. Are CAC slabs considered as desirable as PCGS?

Bump. Anyone have any opinions on a CAC crossover?

Second bump. No one has a comment?

Not a ton of experience but I would think with CACG being notoriously stricter on grading, that would command a higher price. What about just going after a bean?

Yes, a sticker is a reasonable thought, but I think I would need to send it via a dealer, rather than directly.

this coin should be in a 65 holder. I can see why the gave it the RB color but I think if the color on your coin in hand looks like your photos that coin is RD imo

Agree I had this as a 65+ though I saw the slight darkened areas but on almost mark free surfaces.

Scratching my head at that grade. It's obviously RD and at least MS-65. I'd say send it back with a complaint letter and ask them to regrade it.

I would have called this RD, too, but in hand it's hard to be sure that it's above the 95% red threshold. I'm sure PCGS would be happy to regrade it for a reconsideration fee, but there are no guarantees they will change the grade. They might have a bias to keep the original grade if they think it's a borderline call, and I'd hate to reward them with more money if they decide they graded it wrong the first time. I'm leaning towards a crossover with CACG instead.

I missed this the first time around. I also disagree with the grade. Yes, it's RB and no, it's not below gem level. That coin fully deserves MS65RB. It's a gem-level piece regardless of what the holder says.
