Hi all, I was going through some of my old coins and this one kind of popped out to me. Looked like a lot of nice detail, much better than the other Mercury dimes I have. What do you guys think, is this considered "full bands" for a Mercury dime?

No full bands for this one.

No Full Bands on this one. As for the grade, maybe between Fine to VF.

Is Fine to VF even worth having graded with this type of coin?

Absolutely not. Plus I thought the full bands designation was only given to MS examples.

Welcome. Steve, mintage numbers and rarity are key to value in coin collecting. In this case 62 million 1944-D were minted, hence not at all rare. This coin might be in the VF range, so 20-35 on the grading scale but the surfaces look pitted to me, which would lead to a "details" grade. IMO, this dime is worth about $2.50. Definitely not worth grading.

Nope. It's only worth like a few dollars at most.

That's what I thought as well.
