Hello,
I just picked this up at my local coin shop and thought it might be a 1837 Large Cent plain cord small letters. There is a large die break on the obverse. I'm not sure if the die breaks adds or subtracts from the coin. Also any guesses what the grade could be? I'm thinking it might be an XF45?

Thanks for any and all input.

I'm not sure - if that is Environmental damage on the reverse then it is a "Details" coin, Plus it looks to have had a cleaning

Nice purchase! As for the grade, I'll say VF details, environmental damage.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll consider it a pretty good find, even with the environmental damage, since I was able to get it for $20.

Very cool coin! There are several listings for " Retained Cuds" on the reverse of a large cents but only one on the obverse. Not sure if you would be interested, but you could easily get this one listed on COC.

Listings. https://cuds-on-coins.com/retained-...s-1793-1857/

How to get it listed.

Nice pickup - agree with the ED. Might want to consider neutralizing the ED so you still have a nice coin in 10 years.

Thanks for the information on getting it listed, I'll definitely look into it.

Also, how do I go about neutralizing the ED?

Thanks again for the support! Love this community!

You are welcome.

Here is some excellent direction from another member on this site who happens to be a top notch chemist and the inventor of VERDI-CARE. Follow these steps.
