When inflation hit people started saying put everything you can into gold and silver. They were expecting the collapse of the dollar. There's always been people like that but they have social media now to scare people.

While I'm tempted to jump in and start listing some of my error coins for sale just to see what the market is doing, I DON'T want to look like I'm trying to take advantage of the situation. I'll keep an eye on things to see if it's just a glitch or if it's the new norm.
I'm about ready to liquidate my collection, but I'll hold off for a few months as I'm moving from New Jersey to warm, sunny Florida. If the prices hold, I'll be listing at the old prices when I start. If the bidders are still offering these crazy prices, I be surprised.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I'm not "buying" any of this. Make yourself an ebay account and try to sell minor varieties. It is not fun. Start with a 0.01 bid and free shipping.

Ahhh ... the power of mind control, instilled by coin videos and social media, on the buying public. I wonder if Ka has been selling coins.

Sales are way down, I stopped using the "Make an Offer" feature because people are just trying to get everything for nothing, and prices are a joke.

Fifteen plus years ago, I used to buy and sell some things on ebay but now I pretty much only go there looking for oddball things. As far as coins, I know that I don't want to sort through all the trash to get to what I'm looking for/ There are a ton of online auction houses and people are gravitating toward them and leaving the sites where abuse is running rampant.

There were 2 1882 CC Morgan's in separate auctions. They sold for $335 and $375 plus premium. The lower priced sold one actually had a string die clash on the reverse. Here is the auction the had the cent mentioned I the topic. Sold $67 plus 18% premium. https://www.auctionninja.com/countr...Page=1#items

Quote: Make yourself an ebay account and try to sell minor varieties. It is not fun. Start with a 0.01 bid and free shipping. I've sold some minor varieties and errors on ebay, and certainly some folks here are quite successful at it. I have to say, starting an auction at $0.01 with free shipping is a great way to get burned. You can only do that with items in strong demand, and even then you might get stuck with a lousy price. Minor varieties and errors seem much better suited to fixed price listings, possibly with a Make an Offer option with a lower limit. It also seems like patience is the better strategy, since nobody really wakes up on a particular morning with a burning desire to purchase a full price FS-103 vintage Quarter or a die clash Buffalo nickel.
