OBW = Original Bank Wrapped
H/H = Heads/Heads
H/T = Heads/Tails
T/T = Tails/Tails

Ok, so I obtained some 2009-P LP2 Formative Years Lincoln Cents from the Lincoln City ceremony. I've really never been much of a roll collector, but the following has occurred to me:

If you have a heads/heads roll, you can't really tell they are LP2's. They could be log cabins.

If you have a tails/tails roll, you can't really tell they are P mint. They could be 'D'.

Only on the heads/tails can you really tell that they are LP2's from the Philly mint.

So, what do people do when trading or selling something like this? Do you break them open to be sure about them? Take the person's word for it? I mean, I know what they are, but if someone sent me a roll of 2009-D LP2's that showed tails/tails or heads/heads, how would I really know what they are without cracking open the roll? Or is cracking open the roll and re-rolling them no big deal?

I've had to take the person's word that it is "P". I traded a roll of quarters and it was TT.

Isn't there a deeper problem that has been discussed recently? When some of the bank wrapped rolls of Lincolns are opened, other dates are mixed in with the 2009. I forgot the title of the thread that discussed this problem.

Usually I will only buy the Head,Tails rolls from any seller. At the bank, I will take any.

Usually buyers trust the sellers. I have sold Tyler and William Henry Harrison rolls in the past (both P and D). I keep them separate to make sure I don't get them mixed up. Now when they come from Direct ship, it is harder to say which mint it is because sometimes they are mixed.
