Hey hey people, I was going through a box of Dimes that I had the opportunity to pickup the other day and found something pretty interesting! I don't normally look through Dimes either haha. The box turned out to be a skunk box except for a 1916 25 Ore coin minted in Sweden! I'm located in Phoenix, AZ so it's just crazy to me trying to imagine the journey this coin took to get to the United States. If only Coins could talk :(. It's made of 60% Silver, so about $1.5, the coin seems to be worth more than that though at most grades but nothing crazy, couple bucks. My example is a little bit better than the picture below, but it's not amazing almost uncirculated either lol. I'm going to hold onto it, it's just something about the story this Coin must have while traveling that makes me want to keep it. This picture is not my picture, I don't have my phone on me at the moment so I found this so you guys have a reference! Edited by MDLarsen 02/26/2025 04:32 am

A nice find indeed! A lot of Swedes emigrated to the United States in the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th. Not unlikely that this 25 öre coin traveled along with one of the emigrants/immigrants.
