Last night I got a wild hair and decided to start searching for full steps nickels in my mint sets. I believe I came across a few, when I checked the PCGS website for comparisons these ones were close to or in some cases even better looking than the ones they had graded as MS full steps. My eye still isn't great when it comes to these things though so I figured I would run it by you guys. All of these pictures were taken through the original packaging of the mint sets so I apologize in advance, I figure I'll leave them packaged unless they seem worthy of sending in for grading.

Here is the 1968 D Nickel that is in question, now I realize that the definition isn't as clear in this one but I have read that they are a little more lenient on the older coins but again I am no expert.

1968-D,-1987-D-&-1989-P-Nickels-W/-Full-Steps?

Next up is the 1987 D Nickel, on this one the definition on the steps is much more clear although there is a nick over the left window and the right side of the steps look a little broken.

1968-D,-1987-D-&-1989-P-Nickels-W/-Full-Steps?

Finally, here is the 1989 P Nickel which definitely by far has the clearest definition on the steps and the coin is in the best shape. This one I am almost certain would be graded in MS with FS. Let me know what you guys think.

That's pretty much what I am thinking as well. Sort of wishful thinking with the 1968 because that one would be much more rare with the FS.

In my opinion, no FS on the 1968 and 1987. The 1989 looks like FS.

Very nice! You are well respected around here so I appreciate your confirmation on the 1989, I was pretty confident with that one and more wishful thinking for the others.

Here is another picture of the 1989-P, this one has better lighting so you can really see that bottom step.

I have to agree with the others. The 89 should definitely make FS.

In the future, please give each coin its own topic so they can get the appropriate attention without confusion.

ok first off...
to CCF.
2nd - I agree with jbuck - so please only one coin per topic.
and 3rd - the 1989 nickel is a fine looking coin and should make FS if it is sent in.
the others most likely won't make FS due to hits and dings.

Seeing what some TPGers pass off as FS...I'd say yes to the 87....and of course the 89 (like others have stated)

Thank you all for the feedback! I think I will send the 1989 in for grading. I also realized I have a 1987 P that looks even better, so I will send that one in as well.
