British India Coins.replica Or Real?

Osiris_Red New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 03/15/2025 6:40 pm Hi All, One of my friend got few British India coins in an estate sale and is not sure about the authenticity. He ran few basic test and the coins are non-magnetic in nature and weighs between 11.6-12 grams. He is not a seasoned numismatist and needs help in determining if the coins are real. Could somebody please look into the images and share their thoughts/Views about the coins? Thanks in advance for your help. * Edited by Staff to crop and/or rotate and/or resize images. Albert Pillar of the Community United States 1912 Posts	Posted 03/15/2025 7:08 pm I have these in both authentic and fake. The photo's don't really tell me anything one way or the other. My very first check is always at the ready to check for silver. I suspend an N-52 magnet pair on a light thread, approach the magnets with the coin to see if there is or is not any diamagnetic reaction. I do have a space on my worksheet for specific gravity and record that as well along with other observations, tests & notes. Second, I recommend to your friend that they invest in a more precise scale and perform specific gravity tests on these pieces.
