1988 $1 Coin With Angled Edges On One Side

Buster1989 New Member Australia 2 Posts	Posted 03/19/2025 06:28 am Curious how this coin has a significant deformity only on one side. Id expect to see similar formation on the opposite side of the coin if it was struck with a hammer or put in a vice. Even the fine groves that run around the edge of the coin show no signs of impact or being crushed. Could this be a mint defect? Report this Post to the Staff

I don't think I have ever heard of any minting errors for that coin before either. It would be pretty cool if it was a minting error though. Report this Post to the Staff
