1886 Morgan Dollar Proof? - Coin Community Forum

Stephen-P Valued Member Japan 285 Posts	Posted 03/22/2025 1:36 pm Hey everyone. I've collected quite a few Morgans but this one stood out to me. It has absolutely no die markers that can be seen without good magnification, and the few polishing lines it does show are very difficult to find. What really stands out though is it's luster, which seriously looks like satin to me. I've had many 65-67 toned special mint set Kennedy's and the luster looks remarkably similar here, but also in how the fields have sort of a reflective haziness. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

Mirror proof like (MPL) early strike off the dies, breast feathers nicely struck up. Some may like this particular toning, ....... some, - not so much. obv. MS-61, rev. MS-62.
