I don't see an S or V.D.B and that looks like a scratch over the date. But maybe it's just me.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Way too poor in condition for me
to be even vaguely interested.

None of the seller's alleged features on this coin are obvious enough
to grab a potential buyer's interest.

Yikes.

Well, the good news is that at least the seller found an actual AG-3 details 1909 Philadelphia that kinda sorta looks like it's maybe a VDB. And it's still better than the altered 1939-S that I saw last year with a prominent VDB on the shoulder and the letters "VDB" scratched into the reverse in kindergarten lettering in the wrong place.

Oh I forgot to mention that the starting bid for this coin is $100.

I don't see anything they are saying either than it is a 1909 cent. I noticed they call scratches on the coin die cracks. Some of the "laminations" in their listings are circulation hits. I looked at too many of their "major error" coins!! I did find a diamond in the rough though. I am hoping with all the non-legit errors other people won't bother looking. The sad part is the seller is an antiques dealer.

Looks just as a 1909 - P in AG03 condition.

I'm watching another seller that has some real rare coins. Watching is all I'll do because most if not all will be out of my price range. I think the best coin there is an 1881 proof IHC PCGS slabbed and graded PF66BN.

This auction just ended and as I hoped, people didn't want to wade through the junk to find anything. Only 1 other person bid on anything. I know I picked up at least a 1956 D RPM-001 and what looks like a 1945 double clipped cent (clipping is minor).
