Here is a 1961 P LMC with an example of Machine Doubling on the obverse and the reverse. It has all the ear marks including shelf like appearance with no notching of the script. I spent an hour looking at the internet and this had me spell bound trying to figure out if this was a DDO or not! I finally came to the conclusion it was MD after looking at 1961's with MD. So I took some pics (sorry about the number of pics) and hopefully it might help someone with my weak point identifying DDO's. Regards to all!

On the obverse, if anything is some letters with lines on them, maybe from the hub formation, and really the only thing on the reverse maybe some reflection from a light source. So no, I'm not seeing MD. Under magnification you will see all sorts of things.

Going batty is a good thing! And it's worth spending the time to learn MD, as it's common, and will pay off in the end as you will be able to sort them out much more quickly.
