1910 Wheat Cent - Business Strike Or Proof?

TacoSalad New Member United States 30 Posts	Posted 04/06/2025 2:08 pm I was just looking through my Wheaties and came across this 1910 penny. It immediately caught my attention and stood out from the others. Looking at it closer it seems distinctly different compared to all other Wheat pennies I've seen. They're is a sort of "grainy" finish appearance to it and the details seem very sharp. I don't know how else to describe it but Lincoln looks more like Lincoln than normal. Looking at it in hand it's almost like a tiny piece of art, statue like. I know it is unlikely to be a proof and that the Matte Proof Wheaties are known to be hard to distinguish from uncirculated business strikes. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the early proof Wheats or anyone's thoughts and opinions Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

Marv65 Bedrock of the Community United States 10472 Posts	Posted 04/06/2025 4:49 pm I'd say just a really nice business strike, for some reason the early teens Lincoln cents had really nice detail. The rims just aren't sharp/square enough for a proof especially on the reverse. Report this Post to the Staff
