I have been holding on to this 1907 Indian Head for a while because of a series of odd marks on the obverse.

There are 2 very noticeable marks to the right of the numeral 7, a dot just below Liberty's ear, a few marks between the headdress and ER of AMERICA, and a couple longer marks between Liberty's mouth and NI of UNITED.

I've been curious about what they are; I don't know if it's some type of die artifact or something from the hubbing or striking process? I don't think they are clash marks because they don't seem to be matching any of the reverse image.

Any thoughts or opinions would be great, thanks!

Also just to clarify, the reverse is unremarkable; relatively normal looking with no obvious marks/breaks etc.

They look raised so that would mean indents on the die somehow. Clumsy mint worker dropped the die before installing into the press?

In the future, please do not post photos of scope screens. Use the memory card or a USB cable to transfer images.

Yeah they are definitely raised not incuse. I think there's even more marks than the ones I listed, which seems odd to have so many on one coin. Most die lists for IHCs list one or two artifacts/marks at most!

Does it indicate one major error? And does the fact the reverse is normal mean anything?

Doesn't mean anything. Obverse and Reverse dies are 2 totally different entities.

When I see multiple raised blemishes on a coin I tend to think counterfeit.
