I'm not seeing any wear on this coin, I'm going to say MS-62. Very nice coin.

Hi Johnny,
That's an interesting-looking coin. I see light wear on the high points and some dullness in the fields. I'm thinking AU-53 or possibly AU-55 for detail, although some of the "wear" (like the softness of the obverse stars) could be strike related. Light hairlines in the obverse fields suggest that the coin was cleaned long ago and it has retoned around the edges.

It's a good type coin and should do for your set, unless you get the itch to upgrade to a mint state example!

My assessment was more in line with Jaobler's, except I think that the perceived 'wear' is more strike related. I see minor rub on the knee, so AU-58.

interesting assessments, thanks. Here are some additional pictures. It was pulled from a PCGS AU-55 slab. Jaobler is correct regarding some light hairlines in the field. I'm not sure if they are from circulation, or an old cleaning. Fortunately, most of the luster remains, and all the nicely toned areas give off a nice cartwheel when rotated in the light. :-)

If most of the luster remains and the coin does not appear dull, then probably from circulation I guess. The coin looks different now, but it still has a better reverse I think.

Thats Purdy! I would say atleast MS-60 because I don't see any signs of wear anywhere on the coin and I think I see what could be luster so I don't think it was cleaned. Now to see what everyone else thought
