1978 Roosevelt Dime - Lamination Error Or Just Damage

Paul Bulgerin Pillar of the Community United States 3098 Posts	Posted 04/22/2025 8:03 pm I came across this 1978 Roosevelt with sections of the outer layer missing on both sides. The coin has some issues which leads me to think what I am seeing is simply post mint damage but I haven't before seen a clad Roosevelt with sections of the outer layer gone, so I thought I'd ask what others think. When I find coins in this condition, I typically toss them into the going out pile, because you probably will never be able to tell.
