I also have had this in my change for awhile and noticed the thickness (though worn) on the '19'and 'ty' obverse and want to know if there's a way to know it's dd or has time taken a toll for figuring that out. I know that it's already recognized in the thickness of the numbers and on some letters of liberty as well as on rev America and on States.

The "thickness" you are seeing is most likely from circulation hits. The more hits the raised devices get the flatter/wider they become.

That 19 looks like it suffered from poor metal flow during striking, probably due to a tired die.
