Just acquired another several hundred fakes and counterfeits. Lots of the usual stuff but always some surprises. No clue where this one was made or why, maybe game money, but it's wild. Will be doing some primitive camping so might not be easy to reply for a bit but thought I'd fire this one out there before I disappear. Appears to be copper-ish and weighs 3.22g. 1944 Lincoln Wheat cent - ridiculous counterfeit

Interesting. Possibly the work of a seaman pulling duty in a machine shop on a warship somewhere in the Central Pacific in early '45. If 'stuff' could talk...

That is indeed a fun coin. I enjoyed reading the several intentional misspellings.
Enjoy your camping trip.

That's one of the "best" fakes I've ever seen - quite a find, tropicalbats!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

So many things vying for our attention and some are quite humorous. Maybe this is some of the money the Germans brought ashore in Ponte Vedra Beach (near Jacksonville) in 1942 during WWII. No wonder they were caught!! https://www.jacksonville.com/story/...15938926007/
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
