Hello everyone,

My brother recently bought these coins at a car boot sale here in the UK. We're not familiar with coin collecting, but I suspected they might be fake due to their condition and apparent age. I thought I'd reach out to those with more expertise in the hope of getting some insight.

Thank you in advance for your time and help!

Precious Gift Come Time?

The slabs are definitely cheesy imitations of NGC and PCGS holders. I don't know much about the coins themselves, but if that £25 price sticker is the asking price, I can pretty much guarantee that an 1860 $1 in AU condition does not sell for 25 GBP. In fact, I believe it would probably contain more than £25 of raw silver in any condition.

to the CCF

Sorry to say they are both counterfeits.
Unless there is silver in them, they have no value.

Correct, both coins are counterfeit. The 8 reales is totally wrong (reverse dentils is one of the biggest tells) and the 1860 is easily recognized by the incorrect date font size.

Funny how nowhere on the slab does it mention coin grading. "Precious Gift Come Time" with a bunch of meaningless numbers on the plastic meant to deceive people. Pretty sad...
