Just received an email from RAM that contained this.

Has anyone heard if these will be circulating coins, and if yes, how they will be released?

If they are specifically birthday-themed coins, then I suspect no, they won't be issued for circulation, but rather for purchase from the mint - much like the "baby sets", "wedding sets", and such like.

https://blog.newsxpress.com.au/2025...mens-weekly/

newsXpress features in The Australian Women's Weekly
Today in The Australian Women's Weekly you can see the first of a series of ads and media coverage supporting newsXpress retailers and their release in exclusive partnership with The Royal Australian Mint a coin program honouring The Australian Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Book. The QR code takes you to the newsXpress website where stockists (from June 12) are listed.

This is good news for the newsagency channel and, especially, newsXpress retailers. It will drive net new traffic in-store, increase sales and honour a beloved

While the coins release on June 12, the teaser campaign starts today. What is planned between now and June 12 is comprehensive, big. What is planned for June 12 and the weeks after is even bigger.

newsXpress members are grateful to The Royal Australian Mint and Are Media for the opportunity and their support over the last two years bringing this to life.

If this isn't scrapping the bottom of the barrel for a theme for designs I hate to think what would be. The "Big Things" that acknowledged some landmarks weren't bad but the alphabet coins were cringeworthy and the AFL series were awful. I hope these things don't keep getting churned out just to bleed $ out of collectors. Hopefully this next lot are NCLT.

I see Australia Post have reduced the price of their remaining stock of AFL coins. Obviously not very popular. I wonder how this next lot will go?

I would prefer to see things like native animals or significant landmarks or prominent people featured on our coins. The Kookaburra and Kangaroo coins are great examples. Subjects like cartoon characters (e.g. Bluey) and the like just seem to reduce the significance of being immortalised on a coin. Oh well, I guess we will see?

Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and get some to keep my set of uncirculated $1 and $2 coins complete.

I wonder how soon they will be available on ebay?

Maybe it is just memories from childhood—my mom's ever-present recipe box in the kitchen—but I really like that twelve-coin recipe collection.

So the mintage of the $2 coloured clock ( watch) coin is only 11,000?
This will make it very sought after then.
I just want the $2 coin so have to spend $175 to get it.
ebay prices for this $2 clock (watch) coin ? $500?

The product issue for the $2 coin in the sets is 11,000. The mintage for the circulated coins will be different to the ones in the sets
You can also get the Coloured $2 coin thru the till in your change from participating NewsXpress stores.

It's the eve of the official release and there doesn't seem to be any for sale on ebay yet! Maybe News Express have better controls in place than Woolies or the Post office?

Can anyone tell me if these coins are intended for circulation?
