2019-P American Innovation $1 Coin - Delaware

thbjr New Member United States 22 Posts	Posted 05/25/2025 5:34 pm I was trying to learn the difference between a Proof and a Reverse Proof. Google said "A reverse-proof coin has a unique finish where the background is frosted and the design elements are mirror-like, which is the opposite of a standard proof coin." Then on the USMint.gov site I see an American Innovation 2019 $1 Reverse Proof Coin - Delaware that looks just like the one I found from the bank a couple days ago. So, I'm guessing it is NOT a Reverse coin because it appears only S minted coins are reverse, and since the one I have is a P, it's not a Reverse. Correct? I've looked at both the S reverse proof and the P coins online and I'll be duffed if I can see any difference. Can someone post pictures of what is so different about the 2 coins, S Reverse verses P? Dearborn Moderator United States 94925 Posts	Posted 05/25/2025 9:45 pm Correct this coin is not a reverse proof - not even a proof coin at all. this one just happens to have a frosted looking design on it. take a look at 2 of my American Eagle proof coins: the first one is a normal proof, and the second one is a reverse proof. The best way to determine which one you have is to look at the Statue of Liberty on the obverse. By the way, the 2019-P in the OP is a business strike, so the terminology does not apply.
