You learn something new everyday. According to NGC, they have graded 9 Franklin half dollars as MS-70, the 1952 S. The designation is MSPL. I wish I could find an image of one of these coins to see it with my own eyes. Anywho, here's a link to the NGC census: https://www.ngccoin.com/population-...l/MS/?page=1

My guess is that's an error in their website. They don't show up if you look at the population census for that specific date.

I do not believe any Franklin has ever been graded MS70 by any of the major grading services.

That is a mistake on NGC part.
That listing is for the 2024 2 oz. Chernova Kalina French coin.
Somehow it got listed under the Franklins.
I will inform NGC of their mistake.

I would agree with both Zurie and Jimmy D. NGC recently made some minor changes to their website (the grades being reversed in order from the previous being one) so some inconsistencies will need to be addressed. It happens. I do not believe there any 70's in any denomination beyond the the 1970's at NGC or PCGS.

JimmyD, I'm glad someone figured that it was a mistake. I thought that NGC somehow discovered the oldest MS 70 graded coin in history. LOL!
