Hahaha!

Oh, gods. Here I was going to correct you that it must be 19th century for the obvious reason, but it's not. It is indeed dated 18th century.

Caveat emptor. Maybe anyone that buys it would be interested in a lease-to-own deal on a bridge that I just heard about.

Hey Greasy,

The type 1 obverse has 3 fingers on the hand and the bottom of the scroll points to the left.

The type 2 obverse has 4 fingers on the hand and the scroll points down.

Type 1 reverse: Arrow tip over numeral 0

Type 2 reverse Arrow tip over numeral 2.

I sent you a PM with Trade dollar info that you can print out for quick reference. It is in your regular email.

Images for posterity. In seller's defense, it is described as a silver-plated copper replica.

I was reading an article regarding the thickness of U.S. Trade dollars. While it is generally accepted that the thickness should be 2.4mm, not all Trade dollars were that thickness. A stack of 25 from the Philly mint equaled the same height as 26 from the S mint. The S mint coins were slightly thinner This was due to a striking chamber error with the collar. Here is the article for anyone interested.

You would think they would have used a "Y" mint mark for Yerba Buena rather than an "S" mint mark on a fake 1791 coin.

This is a very rare coin. I think there are only 8 known. The seller has sold three of them and has the remains 5 ready to ship!
