Hey everyone, I came across this 1956-D Lincoln Cent and noticed the mintmark seems off. The placement of the mintmark also seems further from the date than usual when compared to standard 1956-D examples. I'm wondering if this could possibly match WRPM-008, WRPM-018, or something unlisted. Appreciate any input on this, Thanks in advance! *** Edited by Staff to clarify the topic title. Nice find! Should've looked on VV first.

Yep, good attribution. Not a common RPM either.

I appreciate the feed back! Thanks for the help and adding pictures like that. I used VV and thought it looked like a match but I'm not as experienced. I'll have to learn to attach photos as I learn more!

I was there, I just did not click on all the listings and view all the photos for that year-mint. I glanced at the thumbnails. I saw the one for 007, but did not catch it being close to click through and go deeper. It was late in the day I suppose.

Few varieties match your in-hand inspection exactly since photos can be deceptive. This is why there are special "pick up points" or "secondary die markers" that are usually photographed along with the primary variety. In this case, there is one in particular you should look for: the die scratch from top of Lincoln's hair, with slight upward curve. If your coin has this feature you can be 100% sure it is RPM-007. If not, then it is almost as sure the coin is something else. Please inspect the coin again and see if the die scratch(es) are present, and let us know.
