Hi, I'm hoping someone here can give me an idea of what this is worth. It is worn with creases but no tears. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

NO WAY. I'm saying F because of that huge ripple in the center of the note going from left to right. I know that's not answering your question, but someone with a price guide will give you the price. **By the way, I re-read my post. It kinda sounds really offensive. "No way" meant extreme eye-popping excitement (I've never actually seen such a note, and thanks for such the high quality scan!) AND AND AND the fact that it's a star note! Also, F means Fine, the grade.

The June '09 Coins Magazine has a small paper money section but it doesn't list Stars for that bill, but if I am reading the chart right, FR# 37 Elliot - Burke Fine is $125, extra fine is $175 now FR# 37A (signatures reversed) Burke - Elliot Fine is $300, Extra Fine is $700 I am guessing it's the first one since that is the way they are on the bill. But adding the STAR to the note I have no clue on the added extra value for that. It's a GREAT bill

There's one cetified XF 45 on ebay right now for $895. I know that doesn't help but go down a lot from there.

Thanks for the replies. I did a little inquiring today in a few different places. None of the books that anyone looked in showed star notes for my bill which confused matters. However, I did speak with Bruce Gumer at Gumer & Company on Hurstbourne Lane in Louisville today and he was kind enough to make a call and get an answer. Apparently star notes for the 1917 Series One Dollar Notes are fairly common (compared to other large bills) and thus only add an extra $25-50 premium above standard notes. So the retail for it would be anywhere in the $125 to just under $200 range. Because the premium for stars in the series is so little it isn't noted in the books. Again, thanks for the replies.

This is a very interesting note, I have just bought this exact bill, only in a $2.00 version, 1917, only the left side of the front of the bill has a "blotchy spot" of wear. I hope this does not detract from the overall beauty/value to much, I will post pictures once I receive it, I saw this bill and just loved it, !!!

Very nice note. Thanks for posting it.
Who are those dudes in the upper left hand corner? Anyway I was wondering. Evidently March 3, 1863 is the advent of the Conscription Act also known as the military draft.

Nice note, I would grade it as F also. My reference states that there was 186 Elliott-Burke star notes reported out of 299,132,000 made. I wouldn't call that common. Valued at $150.
