I see the same 1/1(n) and 2/2(s)--but I don't have a fit in my Snow # guide. There may also be a slight 0/0(s). There were 148 obverse dies that year, and this might not yet have a #. You might consider sending to Rick Snow. If it's new, it will get a # and you'll be credited for the discovery.

Hi, I hope you get a second opinion here, although I did run through the year in my Snow guide--is there a new edition anyone? Since Mr. Snow already provides a cheap attribution service, you might just send it to him? That way, he's sorta obligated to respond. I'm sure he gets hundreds of emails/day--that must be numbing

Kurt, to me this looks like it could be S6. The 1 in the guide looks like her picture (the one in the guide has more light so it's hard to be sure, but look at the top of the digit), the 2 is a match, and "Early die stages may also show microscopic repunching on the 0".
Colleen, would you mind posting a picture of the reverse?

For reference, here is the S6 picture from Rick Snow's guide. Check out the upper and lower portions of the 1 in comparison to Colleen's, then where the upsweep of the 9 meets the circle of it, and of course the 2: By the way, this was taken with my new phone's camera. I had to get a new one (my old one was a Treo and I loved it except it was just too cumbersome to talk on). The camera on this thing is a 5MP! I'm going to try some actual coin photos with it.. woohoo

The 1 in his picture also looks repunched, in the same way as yours. I don't know why it wasn't mentioned in the attribution. hmm.. Reverse description for S6 says "Shield points firmly connected to the denticles. Olive leaf away." Olive leaf is away and the right shield point is firmly connected.. but I'm not sure about the left. KUUUUURT ooooh Kuuuurt where are you? And I must agree about the people here. I'm still a 'new' collector - still learning about attributing, grading, doubled dies, etc.. I suppose if I would settle on at least one country to collect, I might become an expert in one instead of a newbie in them all.. but I like them all so what is one to do? And no matter how many questions I pester them with, they're always very helpful. And they explain why something happens, too, which helps us learn, as well.

Colleen, the date: 1nw,9,0 looks like a hit,2s. It is not the S6, (if indeed it is a hit), and there are no other images that match yours. I would send it to Rick, and it may be a new one, as Kurt suggests. Dick

Quote: I would send it to Rick, and it may be a new one, as Kurt suggests. I would as well, Colleen... as you can probably tell, we're definitely not the experts in these And Kurt can usually tell, so if HE doesn't see a match-up... I hope it is a new one, that would be very cool to have a new variety attributed to you! Let us know what happens if you do decide to send it in (to either of them). If you don't have the Snow number, DGS just signed up with him, so if you pay the attribution fee (not sure what that is there) he will do the attribution anyway.
