I have a 1921 Morgan dollar and the S is missing from the word trust on the the reverse side. It reads; In God we tru t. Is this common? I have had this coin for 40 years and would love some information on it.
Welcome to Coin Community, deelee. Morgan dollar varieties are known as VAM's, an acronym for the names of the two men who originated the identification system for these varieties. Your coin (I'm assuming it's a "D" mintmark) is a 1921-D VAM-1A2. It's not particularly rare, but a very popular and collectible variety. A "normal" example of your coin would be worth, say, about $15-20; a VAM-1A2 in the condition of yours is worth quite a bit more.

On the reverse of the coin, note a line between the eagle's legs, where the tailfeathers begin. It's tough to see on my pic; just above the center:
