NumisEd Pillar of the Community United States 5268 Posts	Posted 06/25/2025 9:37 pm Was at the Whitman Baltimore show on Friday June 22nd. Good crowds and lots of sellers. Was busy, but not too busy. The majority of sellers had American coins on display (ubiquitous amounts of Morgan dollars), but very few world coins. After browsing many tables, I was able to buy a small silver coin from Curacao. I think this will be my last coin show as I simply do not seem to be able to find, let alone buy, the coins I am looking for at these venues. I've had the same issue at small, monthly shows: these have maybe 90% US coins and banknotes and bullion. But the 2 big shows I go to (Boston and NH) have a better split, maybe 70:30 US to World coins (ancients too). Each show has 100+ dealers so I'm looking at a good supply of world coins. Anything from bargain bins to 5-figure slabs (out of my price range!). I love going thru the folders and trays and easily spend 6 or 7 hours at any show, I'm always the last to leave. I have never had a problem finding the US coins I need, but my search for non-US Eisenhower themed material has proven to be more difficult. It seems like most dealers sell their modern foreign coins in large bargain bins. A lot of work with no results. NumisEd Pillar of the Community United States 5268 Posts	Posted 06/27/2025 10:38 am The New York International Numismatic Convention (NYINC) is dedicated to World Coins only. So, if you are in the market for that there is a good chance you will be able to purchase what you are looking for. Unfortunately, I had not much luck. I also think that the convention site is much too small for the amount of dealers and attendees. The organizers of the NYINC really should consider relocating to a site twice the size of the current venue.
