Lincoln Penny 1972. The rim seems extra broad on the obverse,The first A in America is fully filled, the words America look larger than the other words, die cracks and marks on Lincoln's face, the 2 in 1972 has a broader bottom. The letters look like doubling but not sure hub or Machine Doubling. Will appreciate your comments and opinions. Thank you.

Appears to be a minor case of an obverse misaligned die.

Ijn1944@ Appears that you missed out on the dye breaks/cracks on lincoln's face and the 2 in1972 which is listed as an error in vista variety.

Nothing on that cent that can be considered an error. Those are scratches on Lincolns face and the filled in A is due to a broken post.
Just a damaged and worn cent. Not all anomolies are errors, in fact about 99% are due to damage and wear

Everything about this coin is damage or just worn from time. Sorry but just a spender.

The only thing note worthy is what ijn said (MAD Strike) all other stuff looks like damage and circulation flattening.

However, can you post up the VV reference you pointed out about the 2 in the date?

It can't just be one number, all the numbers have to look
like the sample. What you have is a 2 that has been flattened.

See the top of the 2 at beginning of curve? That is a hit causing it to flare out and as JimmyD said the other part of the 2 has been so worn so much it looks wider than normal.

Thanks @Selva for the link and extra images.

But, while the bottom of the 2 is similar to the reference coin, it is not exactly the same, I do not se ethe doubling on the top of your 2.

I agree that this is simply circulation flattening.
