Hey everyone, back with a few coins. Food city, Sierra Vista, AZ change from my veggies. 1970s small date I believe and a 62d. See what ya`ll think. Oh, and is the 70s a floating roof? And maybe doubling on the 62d pillars or are they the back pillars? Thanks in advance.

looks like a large date 1970 cent - not a floating roof though.

and yes, that is a 1962 D cent.

Both coins are normal. The 1970 S is a Large Date.

The 1970S is a large date. I have been looking for a small date and have yet to find one. The best way I have found for me to identify the small date is to look where the curl in the 9 is pointing. If it is pointing towards the mint mark then it is a large date. If it is pointing at the 7 then it is a small date. Looking only at the high and low 7 will make you blind, and it's very hard to tell.

Sorry for the dual post, I will not do that again. And thank you Dearborn for the verification of the 62d. . Thanks all for the info on the 70s. I thought the top of the 7 being lvl with the others meant small. Now I know better.

62-D is not doubled pillars. It is the design. If you notice, the "doubling" is actually the opening of the monument..........

I graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista many more years ago that I care to mention. Just say over 45 years ago for perspective

Even back then we changed the name of the main drag from Fry Blvd to French Fry Blvd

I assume it's still the same from the main gate of Ft. Huachuca through town?

Yes it is nickelsearcher. But now it's all been all redone. Gentrification I believe it's called. A lot bigger than it was 45 yrs ago for sure. We live about 20 mins north out by the San Pedro river and about 10 mins from
Tombstone. We've got a 130 acre piece of land out here so we only shop there. Sometimes In Benson and Tucson. I did my high school yrs in Tucson at Santa Rita high school in the 70's. Been here about 7 yrs now. And thanks Marve65, I see that now.
