That is the single largest crack I have ever seen on a modern coin

definitely not your average, generic, run-of-the-mill die crack

Agreed --and there cannot be many struck this way. But that's just a guess...I'll let the experts chime in

Just by my own experience, I only see this sort of thing on a few British Commonwealth coins from 19th to early 20th C. I've never seen a IHC with such a crack.

This might be more accuately characterized as a "split die". As split dies go, it is quite narrow. Some can be over a millimeter in width. I haven't seen this particular split die before, so I suspect it's a rare one.
