My teller daughter just gave me a call from her bank. She got in 21 hundred dollars in 100 dollar star notes. This was from the "fed" and it was all packed together. Not a old series 2003 and I am saying I will pass on this one. Comments......? They are not in numerical order either.

update .... found out there are many of them that are in numerical order. The amount is not important so if you had the money what would you do?

If I had the money I WOULD do it. The nice thing about collecting "money" is that if you get it at face you should theoretically never be out "anything". You obviously would collect interest if your money was in the bank.

If money wasn't important I would take them! At the very least you could examine them and keep the ones you want to add to your collection.

None of the 2003 and 2003A $100 star notes are particularly rare. Four Fed Districts had stars in 2003 and 2003A with the lowest run at 960,000 notes(2003 FRB L). All of the others were 1.3-2.7 million.

I would ask her to look at the serial numbers to see if any are low, solid or radar.
