This went at auction tonight on GC - UNC Details. I was watching but after winning a Large Cent for more than my budget, decided it best to keep watching.

Had my eye on it because of the Obverse rim (left of date). It looks struck-through and it certainly looks like beads along with other design elements.

You think this is just PMD? Someone took an Indian, laid it on top, and gave it a good whack? The only period US coin with beads is an SLQ and they are spread apart a bit further.

Looks like plain old damage to me...I wonder if CAC charges more to list multiple reasons for a "detailed" coin? ....

My question is....Who pays 50 bucks for a cleaned and IMO a damaged coin that has one of the highest mintage for the series....?

GC bidding is out of control sometimes - people are impulsive. Other times you can be the sole bidder on a cherrypick. Go figure.
