This coin is definitely a "Peg Leg" but the designer initials are mostly intact. In addition to the "Peg Leg" marker, the only other marker for the "off at the knee's" variety is nearly obliterated designer initials.

I've posted close-up pics of a 6D1-201 and full pics of coin in question as well as a close-up of the designer initials

The 1976 D Type 2 rev DIVa 6D2-201, has intact designer initials.

1st pic is of the coin in question, 2nd pic is a close-up of "Off at the knee's" obv designer initials, 3rd pic is a close-up of the Peg Leg and this coins designer initials.

Has anyone seen another '76 D Type 1 Ike "Peg Leg" with nearly intact Designer Initial?

#61623; "R" of LIBERTY is a heavily abraded peg leg

I just went through all of my Type l and I don't have any that have the abraded R.

With your pics...I can't tell if yours is either?
Maybe a little better close-up would help...?

smat45, maybe I have misattributed the coin I believe is a 6D1-201 "off at the knees" (middle photo).

The photo of 6D1-201 at ikegroupinfo shows a faded tapered peg leg without any abrasions around the 'R'. The coin in the middle photo does have the obv. designer initials nearly obliterated which is the 2nd marker necessary for the 6D1-201 DIVa designation.

The bottom photo ('76 D Type 1 coin) is a close-up of the (top photo) "Peg Leg" R that is faded and tapered (you're right difficult to tell by the photo) and is surrounded by abrasion marks but the designer initials are nearly complete. The coin is exactly like a 6D2-201 '76 D Type 2 rev., except it is a '76 Type 1 rev. coin!

Maybe I'm overlooking something there too!
