I'm not an expert on these modern coins - but one glance at Lady Liberty face tells me this not a genuine US coin.
Tell us more.

I thought that the Mint wouldn't start shipping these until July 8... mine is still showing "backorder". But wow, that was quick work by the counterfeiters - must be why some of the details are "off".

Counterfeits have always peeked my interest, I find myself comparing them to the genuine thing like I am playing the "Can you spot the difference" game in Highlights magazine!

Yet another example the lame missing edge reed is a joke to stop fakes. The security features of the Britannia and Maple Leaf coins are far superior. I fail to understand why the US Mint won't use better security features.
China has strict laws against counterfeiting their money but they do little to stop this with ours.

I got tracking very early - that in itself peaked my suspicion - So I go to look at my order on ebay - I get the following page So I go to look up the seller - he deleted his account. My only recourse is filing to ebay about this. and the only way is to request a return and refund account is gone.. The Mint is not releasing the REAL ones about July 29, Mine was in the mail (I had tracking) on June 29 ok, here is a Real compared to my fake Take a close look at the image of mine in the mirror - it is 'Medal' oriented, not 'coin' The reeds are very weak and the 'missing reed' security is also missing.

"Oh No!" That's a horrible fake!! Quote:My only recourse is filing to ebay about this. and the only way is to request a return and refund account is gone. "Oh No!" once again! ID call and complain - they should have the records and give you your money back plus you can keep the fake for your new "fake coin collection" you just inadvertently started

it is a good thing that I always save a copy of the receipt and also print it out on paper, just in case it magically disappears..

yes Marve - I'm assuming that the counterfeiter had only the Mint images to go by, and the Mint's images does not show the coin orientation of this item as .. - they assumed it was medal alignment

the reeds are backwards too, wide incuse, and thin raised..
They also used the Bullion design for the field of blue on the flag, not the burnished one. Notice the crappy hash marks?

Just got off the phone with tech support - My refund is in the bag (as they say) should see my money in 2 days. - then it is off to buy one of these coins! This has been (and still is) a VERY hard and difficult process to get one of these Army privy ASE coins.
