I found a modern cent that appears to not have been fully covered with copper on the face. It also has a slight outter edge that sticks out farther than normal. Any thoughts?

Sorry, it's obvious damage. This cannot happen during the minting process.

It looks like one side was sanded at a slight angle, or maybe scraped hard enough to expose the zinc core.
