Next week (7/24) with a mintage of 10,000, and household limit of 1 the gold Superman coin releases. I plan on being a buyer. What do you think the possibility of a quick sellout is going to be. Do I need to jump on this quickly? Also, same question vis-a-vis the July 31 release of the gold Sacagawea coin with a mintage of 7,500, and a household limit of 1 again. (My bank account is going to take a major hit, then there's the American Liberty gold coming out next month. {whimper}. Last November I planned to purchase the gold Flowing Hair coin, but I thought there would be no hurry as the price of gold had increased so much that the commensurate price of the coin would discourage buyers. Luckily for me I went online and for some reason had the easiest purchase experience from the mint ever and I got one. Had I waited for later in the day to purchase I would have been shutout. Don't know if that experience will apply to the Superman and Sacagawea coins. Time will tell.

I had been thinking on posing this question, and I think dovetails into they post nicely. I don't have any interest in the superheros coins or medals, whichever they are. Trying to keep up with The Royal Mint and maybe Royal Canadian Mint. The Liberty coins either, this year the design doesn't do much for me. If they come out with another historical remake like the Flowing Hair, in silver, I'd probably be there. My concern right now is with the golden Sacagawea. I like it and at least it's a half ounce instead of the full. 7500 is pretty limited. If a design sort of calls me, I get interested. $2200 is a bit high, but an wondering, if I manage to get one and then decide to flip it instead, is this something almost guaranteed to bring more then the purchase price? Would it be a good coin to flip?

I have absolutely no, zero, none interest in this comic book stuff the mint is doing. The privy mark stuff is bad enough, this just reeks of the Mints in Ottawa and London and many other places around the world.

So Erscolo, does that mean you're not a buyer for the Kim Kardashian gold (with diamond inset) set for her 50th birthday in 2030?

I'd be surprised if either sells out, even with low mintage. Gold is already high and the premiums are a bit much, especially Superman. I fully expect the Sac to become a bullion coin eventually. Superman might retain some premium because of the broader long-term collector base.

I think the sac dollar will do well initially. May be able to make $1k off it

I see that Superman gold sales for the week ended 7/27 is at 6,146. At a production total of 10,000, that leaves 3,854 to go. I'm guessing a sellout at this point is unlikely. I ordered one but not to flip though it's nice to see your purchase in plus territory even if you're going to hold.

Does anyone know the ship date for the Sacagawea gold? Immediately? Next week? When they feel like it? At one point I saw a ship date of September 25 th for Superman, but as Sacagawea sold out on day 1 I see no reason why shipping couldn't begin soon. Bring on the American Liberty!
