I ran across this 1980D Lincoln Cent my wife got in change today. It looks like a woody, but I have never seen one this late. Most I have seem are from the 20s - 40s. I understand it is due to improper mixing of the alloy, but I thought they had this better figured out by this time period? Nothing super exciting but thought I would share it for your thoughts. Thanks,

Are there even Memorial Woodies? I've never seen one come to think of it - I guess they got really good at mixing the alloys by the late 50's

I think my 1960 is definitely a woody but some may argue that my 73D and 73 are roller lines, I don't think so though.

I agree, roller lines. I still like finding them though.

Interesting looking memorials!

EDIT: I'm not sure, either way, on those.

That is what I like about this forum. I learn new things all the time. Roller lines! Who would have thought...This 1980 LMC does not have much wear so that explains why the roller lines remain. Thanks for the information.
