I like to find unusual die chips, such as Roosevelt's horse with the snotty nose, and two hornet nest mice running down the Jefferson memorial. So you can imagine the fun when I came across this1955 penny with a Hyphenated Date.

Nice chip(s). Also, looks to be a 'poor man's' doubled die--shows on the last 5 in 1955. Are there die cracks in Abe's scalp? What does the reverse look like?

Yes. The image looks fine to me.

could be a short die crack between the 9 to the last 5, with it following the first 5 pattern..
nice find.

In response to the question regarding the coin having other die cracks the answer is yes.. maybe? When I took a closer look, I noticed a major crack encircling Lincoln's lower shoulder. But is it a crack or lamination error? The first image shows the error. The second image is of a normal 1955 penny for comparison, and the third highlights the error. Thanks

Forgive me, I do not know where the pale red banner across the last photo came from. I hope you can still see the circular crack.

The first picture isn't showing up on my end. It's only partially loaded with the rest being grey.

Hi J Buck... as a moderator, would it be helpful if I sent the pictures again as a new post? I know double posting is not allowed. Thanks
