Long story short, early retired stay at hme dad that picked up the hobby of piggybank coin hunting and RCH.
came across these 3 dimes with roughly the same DD look, but the DD is only on the Latin motto and olive branch. the third example is more extreme and appears to have something different going on, hard to tell if its considered circulation wear and tear or if it maybe grease, or a weak punch?
pics in order:
1998 P R.Dime
appears to have light doubling? and maybe weak die strike in "in god we trust"?
2004 D R,Dime
has what appears to be light doubling? around the lettering, is that due to reflection or something to do with the die rounding the edges?
1985 P.Dime
The "Lu-RIB-U" in the latin on the 85' are on a raised field/ontop of lettering? blending into the torch.
not entirely sure if the lettering across the 85, is due to circulation, or if something else is going on.
so any and all insights/explinations would be extremely helpful with these 3 coins, if the DD is rare or common on the Reverse side. So far ive been having fun observing coins and scrutinizing them, no clue if they are valuable, since
ebay is full of questionable stuff on pricing and not every coin is an exact copy of other errors.
thank you for your time reader!
