I'm new here. I have a nickel with the some stamping issues.it is not clearly stamped front or back.
My mom got it years ago in change.
On the scale we have I got 5grams.

Looks to be just worn. Like from sanding or wear from being under a chair leg or something similar. PMD

It is damage, doesn't really matter how it was done.

To CCF! It was damaged after it left the U.S. mint. Could have been sanded down. It's not an error. Worth 5 cents.

Yes, an abraded coin--was not stuck at the mint with that outcome.
