I landed this coin today and am trying to determine it's variety. According to PCGS and such it should be an M54-K, but it is not an exact match to others designated as M54-K. If that is a specific die pair variety, there must be more than one. Any help would be appreciated.

An expert friend of mine says it's not a Serpent Head but a 46-E with a Clashed Die.

Correct, it's a 46-e, you have to use the lower case letter though, E is a different reverse than e.

No problem, there are close to 150 varieties of these, they can be a lot of fun! a New Jersey copper was my first early American coin, I got it when I was around 12 over 50 years ago.

Yes @lcutler, there are so many varieties it is challenging to figure out which is which. I love the colonial period coins. Virginias are my favorite.
