Here's a Buffalo nickel I recently picked up in nice, well-struck condition. The coin weighs exactly 5.00 grams, which is spot on. It has a die defect, as seen in the photos. My main question concerns the potential impact of the so-called "die lamination" on the coin's value. Also, will a grading company accept this coin for slabbing?
Great looking 18-S I'm not sure about the lam...? This is from PCGS "83 Peeling Lamination Not Holdered A coin which has a planchet flaw that is serious enough to flake away in the sealing process. (This no-grade will not be sealed in a PCGS holder." smat
